Description

This role has direct responsibility for ensuring effective lines of communications are in place between the Production Hall, the SMT, the rest of the business and externally where appropriate.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Daily operations of Production
  • Ensure all operational metrics are accurately captured, monitored and controlled (KPI: efficiencies, giveaway, waste, labour costs, DOT, customer complaints)
  • Through the engagement of the production teams investigate and correct deviations from productivity and quality standards (KPI: productivity standards, quality standards)
  • Manage the daily production function particularly planned and unplanned changes and non-standard work
  • Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed throughout production
  • Support the company’s risk management strategy
  • Supporting the introduction of new process technology/equipment and completing the requisite training
  • Achieve results through teamwork and the leadership of others in a fast-paced environment where the business is heavily audited

 

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years food manufacturing experience essential
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean
  • Solid understanding of KPI’s, finance and management principles
  • Strong production background desirable
  • Strong inter-personal  skills  -  ability to influence and lead
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to effectively prioritise multiple demands
  • Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
